Wedding in Cathedral of S. Mary in Positano

Getting married in Cathedral of S. Mary in Positano

The Cathedral of S. Mary in Positano dates back to the 13th Century and is situated in the real heart of Positano overlooking the beach which it dominates and protects.

The splendid majolica dome and large entrance, adorned with works of art by Mimmo Paladino, make the perfect setting for an unforgettable wedding.

The church is named after the Madonna Assunta of which there is a splendid statue which is carried every year in the procession which takes place on Ferragosto.

On the altar there is a Byzantine wooden icon of the XIII century representing the Madonna Nera with Baby. Not to mention the valuable bust containing the relics of San Vito, patron saint of the town, whose celebrations are held on the 15th June. This bust is one of the most important examples of Neapolitan goldsmith art in the Amalfi Coast.
